BOBBY HILL EARNS CERTIFICATE IN

NONPROFIT MANAGEMENT

Virginia Beach, Va. – Bobby Hill, recruitment coordinator for the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation, has earned a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Tidewater Community College’s Academy for Nonprofit Excellence.  He is one of only 50 people to attain this level of certification, which includes 10 continuing education credits and 100 hours of classes.

“The Academy pushes you to gain news skills and helps you stay abreast of changes,” says Hill.  “I was hooked from the first class.  I got so much out of it that I kept going back.”

Hill has been an EMS volunteer since 1968.  After retiring as the Chief Magistrate for the City of Virginia Beach in 2009, he assumed the role of recruitment coordinator for the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad Foundation, an organization that supports the efforts of all ten volunteer rescue squads within the City.

The Virginia Beach Rescue Squads

The Virginia Beach Rescue Squad system is made up of over 900 volunteers within ten squads that together serve the community under the coordination of the City of Virginia Beach EMS Department.  Each squad is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and supports its operational needs through individual fundraising efforts.  Because of these volunteer efforts, pre-hospital emergency medical care in the City of Virginia Beach is free to all and contributes to over $22 million in cost savings to the City. "From conception of Peninsula Town Center, our vision has been to become an integral part of our community. In an area so rich in history and extraordinary leadership, the Mary's Park dedication was a shining example of Joel Rubin's ability to brilliantly bring this vision to life."
