RCG’s Efforts “Worth Every Penny” to Bridal Show Organizer

There are many bridal shows in the Hampton Roads area, so achieving publicity for one in particular can be a challenge.

That’s why Pearl Taylor, owner of Uniquely Yours by Pearl, retained Rubin Communications Group to promote the first Uniquely Yours Bridal Showcase event (formerly the Karen Eagle Bridal Showcase), which took place on January 6, 2008.

The show, which was the first bridal event of the season, attracted some 2,500 attendees, the largest attendance in the event’s history.  One hundred percent of the event’s proceeds were donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and breast cancer survivors participated in the afternoon fashion show.

In the weeks leading up to the Uniquely Yours Bridal Showcase, RCG spread the word through local publications and attracted media interested and coverage from The Virginian-Pilot (in Saturday’s front-page “Go & Do” section), Inside Business, Port Folio Weekly, Tidewater Women, Virginia Beach Beacon, Chesapeake Clipper and Norfolk Compass.

Representatives from WVEC-TV Channel 13 and WAVY-TV 10 were present for day-of broadcast coverage, including interviews with Pearl Taylor and one of the breast cancer survivor participants.  Immediately following the Uniquely Yours event, The Virginian-Pilot ran a feature-length follow-up story that focused on the event’s success, and another story appeared in all four of the Pilot’s local tab publications (Beacon, Clipper, Compass and Currents).

“It was worth every penny,” says Pearl Taylor, regarding RCG’s work.  “The account managers are awesome, and I have a great admiration for their professionalism. The final push was exactly what we needed to get the word out.”
