Peninsula Town Center Reaches Out to Community In Advance of 2009 Opening
Today it is one basically two stores, JC Penney and Macy’s, and a lot of rubble where Coliseum Mall once stood.
But come the spring of 2009, the Peninsula Town Center could well be the hottest live, work and play environment in Hampton Roads. Rubin Communications Group is working closely with the developers, Mall Properties of New York and Steiner + Associates of Columbus, Ohio, to make sure it happens.
During t he construction period, RCG is organizing a unique outreach project, the Peninsula Town Center Advisory Committee, to be composed of representatives of a host of local government, private sector and non-profit organizations to advise management on how to schedule entertainment, set behavior standards, promote employment and create opportunities for charities to use the Town Center to raise funds.
To show the community what the Town Center will look like, RCG recently produced a video that focused on another Steiner project, The Greene, outside Dayton, Ohio. “The Greene has quickly become a major attraction in that part of the state,” says Joel Rubin who traveled to the Greene with Robert Klages of Advanced Video of Virginia Beach to capture the sights and sounds. “We are confident that with the right mix of restaurants, offices, retail stores, outdoor plazas and residential properties, the Peninsula Town Center will be able to replicate the success at the Greene and other Steiner-Mall Properties developments,” says Rubin.
