Rubin Communications Group In Action

RCG Generates Significant Local Coverage for Unveiling of High Tech Product

The challenge for Rubin Communications Group was how to interest the local media in a product that was not yet available for sale in local stores.  The solution? Create a meaningful event.

Here’s the background. Client HaloTrust International, a young Virginia Beach based distributor of products for the military and law enforcement agencies, had just secured exclusive rights to market a revolutionary water purification bottle in the United States.  The LIFESAVER bottle promised to remove 99% of impurities, making it a worthy purchase for the military, humanitarian organizations and hikers.

HaloTrust had invited the bottle’s British inventor, Michael Pritchard, to come to the area.  RCG suggested turning that visit into a media event, inviting not only reporters but also representatives of local military commands, public safety agencies and non-profits like Operation Blessing to see the bottle in action.  Pritchard, a natural in front of the camera, conducted demonstrations, drawing raves from attendees who watched in amazement as polluted water from a nearby retention pond was transformed into pure, clean drinking water in a matter of seconds. “I’ve seen it. I’ve tasted it. I’ve smelled it,” said Congresswoman Drake. “I’m absolutely impressed with what I’ve seen today.

So was the media. The Virginian Pilot, Daily Press and all three network affiliate television stations provided significant coverage.  RCG looks forward to growing with HaloTrust and Lifesaver as the product gains market share in the U.S.
